Are you increasing or decreasing your spending with industry analyst firms

Icon - measurement - v 62008 and 2009 were years when many vendors were cutting their spending with the industry analyst firms. No news there and in fact this happens every recession. On the other hand, enterprise IT managers were less reluctant to buy analyst advisory contracts due to different perceptions about the value of analyst advice.

In the past there was always a rebound in vendor spending as vendors increased budgets after a recession. However, will this rebound happen after this recession?

SageCircle is gathering data on how people are dealing with analyst contracts this year. We are looking at not just overall spending, but how enterprises and vendors are changing their purchasing patterns. For instance, one area we are exploring is whether vendors are shifting contracts from AMR and Burton because of the purchase by Gartner. Another issues we would like input on is if spending is moving from traditional firms like Forrester and IDC to new style firms like the Altimeter Group.

SageCircle is conducting a survey to determine what are the analyst spending plans for 2010 and 2011. The survey does not require a significant investment in time and can be found at http://SageCircle-AR-Spending.questionpro.com.
